Popular  Rail Noise & Vibration Impact Experience
Members of the firm are well experienced with the measurement of noise and vibration from transportation systems and the prediction of human and physical responses. Establishment of impact criteria and specification of performance levels are also integral to this body of experience. The following are selected examples of relevant project experience:

Kamloops Waterfront Centre - Kamloops, BC - Preliminary site evaluation for noise and vibration impact on proposed multipurpose arena/ hotel/performing arts centre.

CP Rail - Salmon Arm, BC - Investigation of impact of wheel-rail squeal noise from new locomotive design on a residential community.

CN Rail Main Line - Kamloops, BC - Design and execution of a major investigation of community complaints regarding building vibration and damage resulting from double-tracking of heavily used railroad through a residential area. The study included a social survey of the affected area, detailed vibration measurements throughout the community, and participation in public hearings.

Lonsdale Quay - North Vancouver, BC - Control of noise and vibration from rail operations into BC Rail head office building straddling the tracks.

Roberts Bank Expansion - Delta, BC - Evaluation of noise and vibration impact of unit coal trains over a 50 mile corridor through Greater Vancouver.

Burlington Northern Railway Overpass - Burnaby, BC - Impact assessment for grade separation crossing of Lougheed Highway by BNR.

Quinsam Coal Haul Route Evaluation - Campbell River, BC - Review of acoustical impact of proposed coal haul routes adjacent to residential areas of Campbell River.

Calgary Municipal Building - Calgary, Alberta - Design and specification of column cap elastomeric pads to isolate subway vibration from the building.

Waterfront Centre - Vancouver, BC - Vibration study for isolation of two office towers and glass atrium over CPR tracks.

Westminster Landing - New Westminster, BC - Control of noise and vibration from rail yard adjacent to residential development.

Granville Square - Vancouver, BC - Analysis of effectiveness for train induced vibrations of elastomeric building vibration isolation system separating the railway from a high rise office tower with footings straddling the tracks.

Holiday Inn Harbour Side - Vancouver, BC - Modifications to north side guest room glazing to control airborne noise intrusion from adjacent rail yard operations including shunting and car coupling impacts.
